Lieve Ophalvens is a Belgian painter. In all aspects of her art her dreamlike creations destruct and restructure the female anatomy in her own way. What at first glance may seem like a complicated and sometimes somber universe, gradually reveals a colorful world with round and happy shapes. Her paintings hesitate between the abstract and the figurative and give us this impression of traveling in a dream world. The body is captured in close-up and arranged in such a way that it eventually decomposes towards the abstraction. Resident artist of Monteoliveto Gallery from 10 years, she is fully represented from 2019 in all art events of the gallery.
